Spring Mini Sessions

Spring Mini Sessions

Last year, I decided to make this cool swing to use for photos, but wasn’t able to make it happen due to so many bookings. I shot a very small session with a relative, but didn’t get to do the minis that I really wanted to do. I’m excited to say that I did spring mini sessions this April and the results were absolutely gorgeous!

The Original Swing

The original swing was very plain, and was missing many elements that I later added. It was mostly “naked” with a few flowers scattered here and there. Because of some undesirable elements in the background, much of this photo is digitally enhanced. However, the model is gorgeous, and it made for a perfect early advertisement for spring mini sessions.

The New Minis

Though I am a Lexington, Kentucky photographer for now, my roots are still firmly planted in Eastern Kentucky. I had several older clients (and some new!) ask if I would be in the area for photos any time soon. I knew I couldn’t fit everyone in for full sessions, so I opted to do discounted spring minis for the Hindman, Kentucky area!

Day 1

We expected some pretty bad storms over the course of the two days, but luckily the location we had planned for the minis had a barn as an option to use while it was doing a little more than sprinkling. (Shout out to The Everages for allowing us to use their gorgeous mountaintop farm for the photos! Everyone who came up for their photo sessions were awed by how amazing the place was! Also, shout out to Amber Weinberg for recommending the location and helping set it up! And of course, my Dad who helped add some security to the swing!). Here are some highlights from the first day!

Day 2

We weren’t as fortunate with the weather the second day. For the most part, the rain didn’t let up. That didn’t mean that we gave up though! We were able to pull out some awesome shots after I edited out several umbrellas to make it look less of a dreary day. Can’t stop those April showers! But now we’re enjoying such beautiful May flowers that it makes up for it! Here are some highlights from day 2 of spring mini sessions!

I’m hoping that next year I’ll be able to offer these sessions again with enough interest! Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did!
