Amanda & Boo | Waveland Engagement
I had been looking so forward to this engagement session for so long, after Amanda booked the couple’s wedding with me. When I messaged her a while later to remind her of the engagement session she receives with her package, she admitted she had forgotten it came with it, and was ecstatic to schedule a day and get the ball rolling!
Location is Key
I tend to check out the wardrobe the couple plans to wear to their session in order to match up which location we should use for their photo shoot. When Amanda sent me photos of her beautiful dress, and plans to incorporate the State Police car into the session, Waveland seemed like the perfect place! After photographing a wedding there the weekend before, I became absolutely in awe at this beautiful place and wondered why exactly I had never shot there before!
In the Forest
Forests have this natural, mystical, magical quality about them that draws me in. With the simplicity of their white attire, the forest sort of enhanced their natural beauty together.
Spinning, fun, dancing photos are some of my favorites and its a sweet moment to witness when the couple can let go and be themselves together, just like Amanda and Boo did!
The Pond
Some may see a mucky pond, but an artist will see the opportunities and beauty underneath. This small pond made a stunning, earthy backdrop to the engagement photos.
Incorporating Who They Are
Of course I’m always up for bringing in more to a session to tell the story of who the couple is together. When Amanda asked if we could take some shots to highlight Boo’s career in the Kentucky State Police, I was excited to see what was in store.
Its always great to find a couple I can really click with. Having them visit Lexington for their engagement session was like bringing a piece of home to the city!
Now, I can’t wait to see their gorgeous wedding, after having so much fun with their engagement photos! Congratulations again on your engagement!
