Meeting Up

When i first met Emily and David, it was an immediate click. Their sweet personalities and welcoming spirits fit the bill as to exactly the type of couple I like to work with. Soon after, I was able to meet Emily’s mother, and I just kept thinking.. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!
Every step of the way, I was contacted, asked for my opinion, and everything just absolutely came together in the best way I could imagine.

Getting Ready

When I was first introduced to the bridesmaids, my initial reaction was.. wow.. they’re all so tall. In all seriousness, I’m so happy to have met the girls involved in making this day special for the couple. With a mix of family and friends (with fabulous hair, I might add, by Hairport Salon) who shared the easy-going, loving nature as the couple, they created a flawless atmosphere that carried on throughout the day.

The First Look

When I arrived to Talon Winery, I was stunned at the beautiful landscape and instantly chose the spot for the first look photos. The lake with the draping trees made set the perfect scene for David to see his bride for the first time that day!

The Wedding Party

One thing that I thought was unique in itself, was the groom’s choice of Best Man. David chose his father to stand alongside him as he married his best friend–but that wasn’t all. It was later revealed during the toasts that it is a family tradition to have your father as the  Best Man of your wedding. How beautiful is that?

Decor

The decor was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend Carol Lynn Events in Lexington for your flowers and decor needs. The bouquets and other decor really set this wedding over the top. I’m amazed by the stunning detail work they put together.
Also, I may be biased, but I believe table 12 was the coolest. I’ve never had a reserved place at a wedding, and was pleasantly surprised to see my name up on the board!

The Ceremony

The weather during the time the ceremony was scheduled for was less than desirable, but the wedding planner, Deanna Dillender,  perfectly arranged a backup plan and executed it with flare! The photos came out so unique and lovely inside.

The Reception

The reception had a few surprises that made the wedding all the more special. After a choreographed dance of their own and during the father/daughter and mother/son dances, the couple invited all the parents who had children attending the wedding to share their dances with them! After, they also had all the married couples attending come join them for a dance. Just the looks of absolute pride and a silent way of saying “You mean so much to me” on the faces of their loved ones said everything about how priceless these moments really were.

Sneaking Away

I love having the opportunity to take the couple away for some intimate photos of them together. This is probably my favorite part of the day because everything starts to slow down and they can enjoy one another, as husband and wife. Here are some of my favorite photos!

After returning to the reception, I asked the couple to come out at dark for one more photo. I’m so excited they trusted me with it, and went through with my crazy/fun idea!

After some dancing and more fun, the guests sent the couple off to their new life through sparklers and into the coolest car ever.
